Do's and Don'ts in Chemistry-Climate Modelling

I will discuss the current status of chemistry-climate models and their applications. Questions raised will include: Are the current models fit for purpose? Are the scales considered right? How far can models be pushed to answer questions of societal importance? How can we assess and propagate uncertainties better, and communicate results clearly to policy makers and the public? Examples will be drawn from applications of the Unified Model (UM) with the UK chemistry and aerosol (UKCA) module and will be used to create a perspective of what we need to achieve in the coming years.
