Uncovering and Differentiating Network Structures

The talk will present two different approaches to characterise and differentiate network structures. First from a node centrality point of view, we will compare functional brain networks from healthy and at risk of developing schizophrenia groups, with a focus on the anterior cingulate cortex, using classical centrality measures. Then we will discuss how to uncover different community structures from a mobile phone network, first by using only the topology of the network and then by adding extra information available about the network. In both cases, we assess the statistical differences between the structures found.
