Abstract
Professor Pritchard is Head of Research at Kew Garden’s Millenium Seed Bank Partnership, the largest ex situ plant conservation project in the world. The Seed Bank works with global partners to conserve threatened plants and those of most use for the future. 10% of the world’s wild plant species have been banked and the aim is to save 25% by 2020. Professor Pritchard will be speaking about the processes, techniques and challenges involved in gathering and preserving these seeds.
