Abstract
You are all warmly invited to the next meeting of the Bioenergy Initiative, which will take place THIS FRI , 27 July, 2-3pm in the Tom ap Rees Lecture Theatre – this time the talks go beyond energy production:
Paolo Bombelli from Biochemistry has kindly agreed to give us a summary of the recent success of the Moss Table at international exhibitions, but we will also have one external speaker, Jerome Vaughan, from Aragreen Ltd (a company seeking to use algae to treat waste water [nutrient removal] and produce valuable biomass from this process [pigments and proteins]; cf www.aragreen.com).
His company seeks people who have experience in academia of working with algae: both for summer placement and full-time positions â so those of you who work on algae, please do come to check them out!
Title and brief abstract:
Redefining waste water
An investigation into how algae can transform the value of waste water from a cost centre into a valuable feedstock for biomass growth. A discussion of the technical and scientific challenges associated with validating this process.
Series This talk is part of the Plant Sciences Talks series.
