Abstract
The Klein-Gordon equation is a partial differential equation which describes quantum mechanical particles in a potential. We show that an operator pencil can be associated with the equation whose spectrum is unbounded both from below and above. We give criteria on the potential for the existence of a gap in the spectrum of pencil.
This is a joint work with M. Koppen and C. Tretter.
