Abstract
This talk will firstly give an overview of the key factors contributing to earthquake-induced building damage. Ground-based and satellite-imagery based methods of damage assessment will be described and their relative advantages and disadvantages discussed. Finally, recent and future applications of earthquake damage assessments, including some current projects, will be presented.
