Abstract
Recently, the CMS experiment at the LHC made a measurement of the top quark mass in the dilepton channel using the endpoints of kinematic distributions, including MT2 . In addition to the top quark mass, this method was applied to simultaneously measure the top quark, W boson and neutrino masses. Since dileptonic ttbar has a topology similar to new physics, the measurement is a testing ground for determining the masses of beyond the Standard Model particles. Furthermore, the variables used in the study are well-suited for new physics searches and thus many analyses are utilizing their separation power.
