Abstract
Coping with the issues of the rapid changes in our global community and the environment, Taiwan’s Ministry of Education Advisory Office have implemented the “Program of Futures Imagination and Creativity in Education” (2011 ~ 2014). The program focuses on seven issues and has six action plans. An empirical field study investigating the program’s initiatives and perceived impact in compulsory education level had been conducted in Taiwan in 2011. By employing the research methods of interviews, observations and surveys, evidence revealed that the program had some impact on Taiwan’s education system. The perceived impact of FICE had been reported on the aspects of the governmental policy promotion, schooling and curriculum practice, as well as educator’s teaching and pupil’s learning. Some faced dilemma and suggestions will also be discussed in the seminar.
