Abstract
This seminar will examine the issues surrounding growth in the region, given recent changes in the delivery of planning policy and the difficult times we now face. It will examine where we are now, in the light of the history of planning & development in the region, the status of recent regional and local structure plans and development and consider the effects of the abolition of the Regional Spatial Strategy, of new planning policy frameworks, the Localism Act and other current initiatives.
It will consider how the various new structures can function to deliver significant growth in the area over the next 10-15 years in an internationally significant low-carbon, knowledge based economy.
Series This talk is part of the Land Economy Departmental Seminar Series series.
