A systems view of the cancer cell: from missing genetic variability to combination therapy
- 👤 Speaker: Andrea Califano, Columbia University
- 📅 Date & Time: Wednesday 07 November 2012, 10:30 - 11:30
- 📍 Venue: CRI Lecture Theatre
Abstract
Dr Califano’s lab have been leaders in the development of biochemically validated genomewide maps of transcriptional and post-transcriptional interaction in several human cell contexts, including different cancer types and normal and tumour-related stem cells. The Califano lab integrates the development of analytical methodologies with high-throughput experimental assays for data generation and biological/biochemical validation. In particular, the lab have developed the “master regulator” concept in human tumours and the “bottleneck” hypothesis of master regulator function in glioma.
