Well-posedness issues for the boundary layer equations

Abstract
We shall discuss developments in the mathematical analysis of the Prandtl equations, involved in the description of high Reynolds number flows near a solid wall. The Cauchy theory for these equations is tricky, and turns out to be very dependent on the choice of the functional spaces. I shall report recent progress on that problem, based on a joint work with Nader Masmoudi.
