Abstract
ICT is playing a critical role in optimizing the value and use of commercial property due to increasing user expectation and the decreasing cost of instrumentation, making real-time management of commercial space a reality. βThe consumerization of ITβ, BYOD and other technology trends are changing the way space is occupied and managed, offering the opportunity to reduce operational expenditure; manage multiple assets in real-time; and increase the overall user experience.
The greater availability and demand for data is challenging the traditional tenant landlord relationship, real-time data for example can provide greater operational transparency and drive other user services.
Evidence suggests that there has been a significant convergence between enterprise networks and IT integration. It has become increasingly possible to converge building automation over an enterprise network for data communication and share facility wide data for BAS and other organizational needs.
