Abstract
In this talk I aim to give a broad overview of some aspects of locally correlated electron systems, illustrated where appropriate in the context of quantum dot devices. Following an extended introduction to basic Kondo and related physics, four selected models will be considered, with the aim of illustrating the diverse range of physics and phases that can arise from the interplay between internal spin and/or orbital degrees of freedom.
Series This talk is part of the Theory of Condensed Matter series.
