Abstract
Of the genera of ‘living stone’ succulent plants, Lithops is perhaps the genus most people think of, but the Mesembryanthemum family includes many others, with all kinds of growth forms. They are all native to Southern Africa, apart from a few ‘weedy’ kinds which have spread worldwide.
