Abstract
Service orientation in the defence and aerospace industries through Industrial Product-Service Systems (e.g. availability contracts) is creating challenges in cost estimation due to uncertainties. The talk initially introduces the topic of uncertainty in service delivery, which subsequently leads to a classification of uncertainties. Then, processes for uncertainty based service cost estimation will be explained. The presentation will subsequently demonstrate a software application to incorporate the influence of uncertainty to cost. Finally, future research directions will be presented.
