Abstract
Aston Martin is implementing a business wide ERP program. The presentation is based on the real-world experiences of data management where the goal is to deliver sustained efficiency gains across the total business process by removing data scrap and rework from within the discrete process steps.
Bio:
Since 2005 Mike Gibson has worked for Aston Martin, routinely reporting at director level with direct responsibility for business critical data reporting and process improvement / business re-engineering. As Data Lead for the company-wide ERP implementation Mike is responsible for the cross functional alignment and data migration of 11 workstreams.
Mike is a recognised subject matter expert for warranty having developed Aston Martin’s warranty cost management model, which has been incorporated into Microsoft’s Dynamics AX platform. To quantify the models competitive advantage he developed the Cost to Knowledge Ratio, which was published in 2009 by Larry P English in his book ‘Information Quality Applied: Best Practices for Improving Business Information, Processes and Systems’. From 1995 to 2005 Mike worked for Land Rover where he was a company specialist in On Board Diagnostic systems (OBDII) specialising in field based evaluation and problem resolution.
