Abstract
The development of the artificial pancreas is underway with considerable stakeholders input and industry interest. Aimed to treat type 1 diabetes of all ages from early childhood to maturity, the artificial pancreas consists of a continuous glucose meter, control algorithm and an insulin pump. Significant life sciences opportunities exist to complement the clinical work and accelerate research progress and commercialisation of the artificial pancreas.
