This exciting family lecture will be packed with around 30 spectacular demonstrations illustrating the fascinating science behind fireworks, pyrotechnics, and explosives.

Warning: loud bangs, bright flashes, and some smoke. Ages 8 upwards.

Professor Chris Bishop FREng FRSE , Distinguished Scientists at Microsoft Research, presented the 2008 Royal Institution Christmas Lectures. He has won the Edinburgh University Tam Dalyell prize for excellence in engaging the public with science, and the Rooke Medal for public engagement from the Royal Academy of Engineering.

Free admission. Open to the public. Suitable for GCSE students. No tickets, so arrive early to get a good seat.
