Abstract
Economic Model Predictive Control (EMPC) is a variant of MPC that seeks to directly optimize dynamic performance of a plant rather than taking the hierarchical approach of first finding the best feasible set-point and subsequently steering the systemβs state to such equilibrium value.
We investigate issues of asymptotic performance, average constraints, convergence and stability of equilibria as well as terminal equality constraints vs. penalty functions.
