Speaker biography:

Danilo Igliori, economist at BTG Pactual, holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge where he lectured in the Department of Land Economy (2004-2011) and was the Adam Smith Fellow in Political Economy at Pembroke College (2009-2011). He is also professor doutor in the department of economics at University of Sao Paulo since 2005. Prior to starting at BTG Pactual he has acted as consultant for the private sector, government departments (in Brazil and in the UK) and international agencies (World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank). His research interests include labor and credit markets, urban economics and real estate, development and environmental economics, industrial clustering and land use in the Amazon region. He is co-editor of the journal Spatial Economic Analysis and fellow of the Regional Studies Association. He has published in leading academic journals including Land Economics, Journal of Regional Science, Urban Studies, and Development and Change. He has also written 2 books and contributed to a number of edited volumes.
