Abstract
Join Leena Rana, Applied Arts Intern, for a look at eight English samplers in the Museum’s collection, made by poor schoolgirls in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Discover what the samplers can tell us about the social and cultural environments in which these young needlewomen lived, as well as the personal stories of the girls who made these exquisite classroom items.
