Abstract
Yufeng Zhang from Birmingham Business School of Birmingham University will introduce his most recently co-authored paper with Mike Gregory, published in the Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineering, Part B: Journal of Engineering Manufacture. Yufeng is ex-IfM colleague and a lecturer in Birmingham Business School where he is teaching Operations Management.
Yufeng will explore the unique nature of engineering and the key challenges in strategic decision making, followed by suggesting three sets of typical decision frames for engineering operations and setting directions for the future research. He would also like to draw a link to the ongoing EU FP7 project Europe-China High Value Engineering Network (EC-HVEN) with a critical reflection on the first year explorations and developments from 2012 to 2013.
