Richard Longdon, Chief Executive

Richard Longdon received an engineering training in the defence industry then gained experience in the project management of high value engineering projects. He has held a number of senior sales and marketing roles with international companies. He joined AVEVA in 1984 and shortly afterwards was made marketing manager for the process plant division. In January 1992 he relocated to Frankfurt where he was responsible for founding the Group’s first overseas office. He returned to the UK as part of the management buyout team in 1994, subsequently taking responsibility for the Group’s worldwide sales and marketing activities at the floatation of the Company on the London main market, before being appointed Managing Director in May 1999. He became Group Chief Executive in December 1999, during which time AVEVA revenues have grown from £18m to £220m. AVEVA Group is a member of the FTSE 250 . Richard is also a director of Flying Kiwi Inns.
