Abstract
This talk will be a simple introduction to cinematography and continuity editing. I will start by explaining some of the basic creative choices available to a director or cinematographer when deciding on a single shot. Then I will introduce editing and how the shots can be compiled together for dramatic effect and how this is done in such a way as to prevent undesired audience distraction.
I am by no means an expert about this and I hope to keep it fun. Every point will be illustrated with a short video.
Series This talk is part of the Offtopic Lunch series.
