Abstract
Baryons in holographic QCD correspond to topological solitons in the bulk. I shall describe some recent results on the study of bulk solitons within the Sakai-Sugimoto model, which is a holographic QCD model with a string theory embedding. A low-dimensional analogue will also be described and results presented that are relevant for holographic investigations of QCD at finite density.
