Abstract
I will give an overview of my research, starting with work on the evolution of avian pigmentation genes in response to sexual selection.
My more recent work has focused on the genes underlying colour pattern variation in Heliconius butterflies. Overall this has led to some insights into the types of genes and genetic changes that give rise to adaptive phenotypic evolution.
