Abstract
To celebrate 25 years since the publication of his first book Katie’s Picture Show, James Mayhew will talk about his quest to share his passion for art and music with children. From the process of creating a book to the thrills of painting on stage with an orchestra, James’ work is all about the magic of combining the arts within the framework of a good story.
James Mayhew is a distinguished author and illustrator who has received many awards and honours. His best-selling Katie’s Picture Show series has been introducing children to great works of art for the last 25 years. He is also the creator of the Ella Bella books, and many others. He is well-known for his unique work presenting concerts with orchestras (with live illustration!) and as a story-teller, educator and set-designer. James contributes to the Anglia Ruskin MA Course in Children’s Book Illustration. He is much in demand internationally as a speaker.
