Abstract
Just infinite groups are a generalisation of finite simple groups in the case of profinite groups and natural examples of just infinite groups have been widely studied in the past. βWilson type groups were first introduced as an example of hereditarily just infinite groups which are not virtually pro-p. In the first part of the talk I will give some motivation of the importance of this family and I will show the construction of Wilson type groups via iterated exponentiation of finite non-abelian simple groups. In the second part I will address two generation problems: find explicit generators and determine the lower rank of Wilson type groups.
