Abstract
In this seminar I will review progress with the themes that have been pursued in recent years in relation to cancer diagnosis. I will argue that we are at an important juncture from several perspectives, in our conceptualisation of the problem, in the type of research that will be undertaken in future, and in the directions that might have greatest short and long term impact. Lastly I will consider the extent to which research on cancer diagnosis might be generalisable to other clinical areas. My intention is to stimulate wide-ranging debate and discussion, and so ample time will be allowed for this.
Series This talk is part of the Bradford Hill Seminars series.
