Abstract
Celebrated Darwin scholar James Moore goes beyond 19th century evolution to examine the work of R.A. Fisher, the man hand-picked by Darwin relatives to lead the Eugenics Education Society in 1911, whose synthesis of biometrics and Mendelian views of inheritance formed the basis of neo-Darwinian theory in the early 20th century.ย In his work ‘R.A. Fisher:ย a faith fit for eugenics’, Moore considers the character which allowed Fisher to pursue his eugenic theories in the face of academic and scientific controversy.
