Abstract

Professor Keith Hayward will speak on where we are and where we are going with technology in both civil and military applications, some of the regulatory and ethical issues, and the implications for the traditional aerospace industry.

Professor Keith Hayward FRAeS is currently Head of Research at the Royal Aeronautical Society. He was formerly Head of Economic and Political Affairs at the Society of British Aerospace Companies and before that Professor of International Relations at Staffordshire University. Professor Hayward has been a consultant to the UK House of Commons Trade and Industry Committee, the US Congress Office of Technology Assessment, the UK Ministry of Defence and the Department of Trade and Industry. He has written extensively on defence and aerospace industry issues, and has published over fifty books and articles on the subject. He is an Associate Fellow of the Royal United Services Institute and a member of the French based Air and Space Academy.

Time: Refreshments served from 19.00. Talk starts at 19.30. Ends by 21:00 following questions and discussion.

Free for IMechE and RAeS members, their guests, students and young people. Other visitors will be invited to make a £5 donation.
