Abstract
Hydrodynamical simulations of galaxies have only recently managed to produce realistic spirals in cosmological dark matter halos. It is widely believed that strong feedback from massive stars is the key to this success. I will present simulations run using GADGET3 with a MUlti-Phase Particle Integrator algorithm for star formation and stellar feedback, based on a simple model for the behaviour of the Inter-Stellar Medium at unresolved scales that does not assume the existence of equilibrium solutions. I will focus on the quantification of the outflows generated at high redshift in our simulations. Results will be used to understand the potentialities of our sub-grid model, the reason for its success, and some ideas to further challenge such models.
