Design of Polyhedral Meshes

Abstract
Polyhedral meshes are defined as general polygonal meshes with planar faces. These meshes have attracted recent attention, mainly due to their benefits in industrial and architectural design. I will present frameworks that provide a parametrization of the deformation shape spaces of polyhedral meshes, while also pertaining to meaningful subclasses, such as circular meshes. Such shape spaces allow for efficient editing, interpolation, and shape exploration.
Bio:Amir Vaxman is a FWF Lise-Meitner postdoctoral fellow at TU Vienna, working under Helmut Pottmann in the Geometric Modeling and Industrial Geometry group. He received his Ph.D. from the Technion-IIT under the supervision of Gill Barequet. His research focuses on architectural geometry, with an emphasis on polyhedral meshes design.
