Abstract
The division of labour in European Prehistory is usually inferred through indirect means, for instance by analogy with ethnographic studies. At present, the study of skeletal activity-related morphologies seems to be the only way to directly question the existence of such a specialisation of cooperating individuals that characterizes almost all contemporary traditional societies. Dr Villotte will present some of these variations related to mechanical stresses experienced during life, the many potential pitfalls of this kind of study, and several examples of analyses that were used to infer the division of labour in Prehistory.
