Abstract
Even discounting climate change nuclear power is the safest form of large-scale energy production mankind has yet devised. Yet a considerable number of people seem to think it so dangerous that it should not be used at all. This talk considers some reasons for this puzzle and suggests ways forward.
All members of the public and the university community are welcome to attend this talk, which should be entertaining, educational, and provocative in turns for both a technical and non-technical audience.
