Abstract
Lavr Burin who joined OPERA group in the very beginning of this year, gives a survey talk about his personal research interests and activities. The talk includes a brief introduction to the history and development of computer science in Russia and therefore about some specific aspects of approaching the discipline in this country. Ways of combining this approach with a more common one adopted in the Western World are discussed. The talk presents Lavr’s personal experience and motivation for pursuing a research at the University of Cambridge.
