Abstract
The Arab Spring of 2011 opened up a new stage in the world revolution. Today, however, the predominant feature is instability throughout the region. Recently, we have seen the rise of the Islamic State, civil war in Syria, and the Israeli attack on Gaza, which left 2000 dead. Events today are the proof of Rosa Luxembourg’s prognosis: “Socialism or Barbarism”. We ask – what is the role of imperialism? What is the role of political Islam? How can socialism solve the problems of the people of the Middle East?
