Abstract
Recent appreciation for the unique Boron-Nitrogen bond properties triggered a burgeoning interest for this motif. B-N bonds have been extensively exploited to construct self-assembled molecularly defined nanostructures, polymeric materials and sensors. Recently, the isosterism between B-N and C-C bonds was also recognized as a powerful tool to tune the properties of organic molecules. In this communication, will be presented the use of this bonding motif to create useful heterocyclic compounds with natural-product like structures and to efficiently modify proteins promoting the assemblage of therapeutically useful conjugates.
