Abstract
Benson’s regularity conjecture, now a theorem of Symonds, states that the Castelnuovo-Mumford regularity of the cohomology ring of a finite group with trivial coefficients is always zero. A natural question is what happens to the regularity if we take coefficients in other kG-modules? I will start by introducing the necessary background on group cohomology and regularity, giving plenty of examples. Then we will look at some recent results which answer the question for certain classes of modules and using this provide a complete answer for certain groups.
