Abstract
The Cambridge Public Policy Strategic Research Initiative will be hosting a lecture by Dr Ha-Joon Chang from Cambridge who in his widely-read books such as ā23 Things They Donāt Tell You About Capitalismā and most recently āEconomics: the Userās Guideā has been critical of orthodox economics and economics teaching. Ha-Joonās books have reached a wide audience, and along with other commentators and academic economists, raise questions about whether economics is serving society well, and what might be changes required in the discipline and its contribution to public policy. Following on from Ha-Joonās talk we will have an invited panel from government, academia and industry, to discuss the issues raised.
