Abstract
I will discuss perceptions of GM crops illustrating the complexities of GMO debate and the application of the concept of sustainable development. The concept consists of three discourses that both sides of the debate refer to in their analysis: environmentalism, social and economic development. This creates a unique situation when both sides use the same framework to support their arguments and cannot reach a common ground.
