Abstract
I will describe a general and rigorous parametrization of galaxy bias, that is, of the relation between the density field of a general tracer and matter. This bias expansion is complete and non-redundant at any given order in perturbation theory. This is an essential ingredient for the goal of connecting the observed statistics of galaxy clustering with the initial conditions to learn about inflation. Also, the physical interpretation of the (renormalized) bias parameters can inform models of galaxy formation.
