Abstract
Note: This seminar will run 2:15 to 3:15pm
In the last 29 years Sophos has grown from 2 employees to 2300. Started in an end-terrace house near Oxford by two postgrads straight after their doctorates, it grew to become a world leading producer of computer security software and hardware. Jan Hruska, who is the co-founder of the company, will give his perspective on various business problems encountered on the way, from the founding of a company, rapid growth, acquisitions, patents, interviewing and employing people, exporting etc, which are often best solved in non-intuitive ways. The solutions presented are frequently surprising and often not what you may learn in a business school.
