Abstract
Celebrated Darwin scholar James Moore goes beyond 19th century evolution to examine the work of R. A. Fisher, the man hand-picked by Darwin relatives to lead the Eugenics Education Society in 1911, whose synthesis of biometrics and Mendelian views of inheritance formed the basis of neo-Darwinian theory in the early 20th century. In his work “R. A. Fisher: a faith fit for eugenics,” Moore considers the character which allowed Fisher to pursue his eugenic theories in the face of academic and scientific controversy.
