Abstract
This presentation will summarize research on chemical and biochemical microsensors carried out in the Biomolecular Measurement Division at NIST . It will describe the design and function of microscale platforms, as well as the fabrication and integration of nanomaterials that enable analytical measurements. Specific examples will include the use of temperature-controlled electrochemical devices for measuring biomolecular stability changes relevant to single nucleotide polymorphism and small molecule binding to DNA structures. The properties of Ag (and Au) interfaces fabricated for localized surface plasmon resonance (and bimodal EC-SERS) studies will also be discussed.
