Abstract
Two railway bridges, a prestressed concrete bridge and steel half-through bridge, have been extensively instrumented for the Staffordshire Alliance Bridge Monitoring Project with both distributed and discrete fibre optic sensors. This presentation will provide an overview of the instrumentation and monitoring scheme and will discuss the broader goals of the project, which aims to advance the feasibility of monitoring systems implemented during the construction of new bridges.
