Abstract
We will discuss the experience of a recent Cambridge graduate who, upon entering the industry, was thrown in the deep end of a very busy production cycle. It will discuss how the industry compared to his expectations and how he has adapted to meet the challenges.
It will also discuss how the studio environment and processes foster innovation, and outline some of the examples of world class original research that arose during production of our previous projects. In particular the Physically Based Animation technology used to power the AT-ATs in Disney Infinity 3.0: Rise Against the Empire will be presented and discussed.
The Physically Based Animation technology was featured at Siggraph 2015 and is featured on this video at 2:53 minutes in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8r2HY8U6pE
