Abstract
We hear much about the impending rise of nano-machines, but is this science or science fiction? In this talk Professor Jeremy Baumberg FRS , Director of the Nanophotonics Centre at the University of Cambridge will discuss the state of this field, highlighting recent advances, and mapping our progress.
Jeremy Baumberg is widely recognised as a leading innovator in his field: in 2013, he won the Physics Young Medal, and a fellowship with the Royal Society in 2011. He has developed new devices within Hitachi and IBM , and particularly interested in the development of nanostructured optical materials.
As usual, the talk will be followed by wine and cheese The talk is free to members, and ÂŖ2 for non-members – there will be the opportunity to buy lifetime membership for ÂŖ15 on the night.
