Abstract
The talk, hosted by the ‘Science: Polish Perspectives’ popular science conference and Cambridge University Science Society, will be given by two University of Cambridge scientists: Professor Sir David Baulcombe and Professor Jerzy Paszkowski. The intention of our speakers is to reach out and engage with audience, so we hope it will turn into a great discussion on the topic!
In 2009 sir David Baulcombe chaired a Royal policy study on the contribution of biological science to food crop productivity. He also chaired a group that produced a science update report for the British Prime Minister about GM crops.
Jerzy Paszkowski has conducted research in Polish Academy of Sciences, ETH Z ΓΌrich and obtained full professorship at University of Geneva before becoming Research Group Leader at University of Cambridge.
