Abstract
Prof. Woods’ work involves defining the important processes in human neurodevelopment. He focuses on Mendelian disorders of painlessness and of excess pain. His research encompasses peripheral nociceptor development, including the potential to generate novel analgesics. He also looks into the genetic factors that affect pain threshold, the risk of developing neuropathic pain as well as response to analgesics. This promises to be a great talk and one not to be missed! Relevant for MIMS , NHB and Part II Genetics, Neuro and Path CGD .
